The Dallas Cowboys defense finally stepped up this week. In my opinion I felt that because the Dallas offense with Romo could put up points at will, that the Defense took a back seat and could relax. Last week was a wake up call and now they woke up the beast that is the Dallas D. Dallas kept Tampa from scoring a touchdown in its 5 trips to the redzone and kept them to 3 field goals. It shows that even with the countless injuries to key players on defense that this team has the ability to step up and be the best on any given Sunday. Brad Johnson did so-so but did throw a touchdown pass to Roy Williams his first as a Cowboy. Marion Barber had 71 rushing yards and countless important 1st downs. Owens was kept just for 33 receiving yards. The game ended with a last minute attempt by Tampa to score for the win. They converted 2 4th down attemps but the 3rd wasnt the charm and they were stopped with the Cowboys emerging on top. Dallas moves to 5-3 same with the Tampa Bay. Its not getting any easier for Dallas as they face division rivals the Giants (6-1) at New York next week. Lets hope the new great defensive play continues through out the season.

Foods to Use to Build Good Meals for Lean Mass

A lot of people ask me what I eat etc and how I stay in great shape. What you eat and how and when you eat is just as important if not more important than the exercise aspect. I get plenty of that from my training and from lifting weights. Remember eating right has to be a lifestyle change and not a temporary thing or it just doesn't work and will be a waste of time. This is something that was put together by a coach/friend of mine who is a nutritionist, and a professional MMA fighter who is in phenomenal shape. Below is a list of some great things to eat and even a sample eating routine that will help you get in great shape and stay and feel healthy. I hope you enjoy and ask any questions you may have.
Good organic teas and coffees (if over 18)
100% Fruit Juices (no sugar added)
Organic 2% Milk
Dried Fat-Free Milk
Low-fat Cheese (75% fat-free cheese can be found at Walmart)
Low-fat Plain Yogurt
Brown/Wild rice
Potatoes & Sweet Potatoes
Oatmeal
Whole grain pasta, flours and breads (make sure breads are sugar free)
Eggs
Fresh fish
Lean Chicken Strips or Breast
Lean Turkey Breast slices
Lean Ground Beef
Dried fish (but careful as high in salt)
Beef jerky (but careful as high in salt)
Any "bright" vegetable (esp. Spinach, Cilantro, sprouts, tomatoes, peppers, dried seaweed, carrots)
Any Fresh or Frozen Fruits (Bananas, Berries and Citrus are my favorites)
Any nuts (but never more than 1 cup in one day)
Mustard, Horse Radish, Ginger, Wasabi
Honey
Low-Carb, Low-Fat Protein Powder
Fish Oil Pills
Multi-Vitamin tablets
Meal one - (right after waking) vitamins (Daily MV, fish oil) with a small 30-60 gm protein shake (if not watching carbs then including favorite fruit, plain yogurt, milk and honey), if really trying to lose weight then drink coffee or tea instead to get the day going…
Meal two – (Great as a Family breakfast..devotions meal)
Homemade Oatmeal Granola w/ yogurt & frozen fruit, or Veggie Egg & Cheese Omelet, (Tomatoes, Cilantro, Celery, Potatoes)—make double if you want as this is a great Meal Six as well…
Meal three – (snack)
Handful of Nuts, Fruit and Vegetables (Apples, Pears, Oranges, Tomatoes, Carrots) may have a protein shake/bar if still hungry
Meal four - (approximately lunch time)
Lean Meat, Cheese, Veggies, and Complex Carbs (brown rice or whole grain bread)
Homemade Sandwiches that can be toasted or actual hot meals are the best
Meal five – (snack) Same as Meal 3
Meal six - (around 6-7 PM)
Lean Meat or Egg, Cheese, Veggies, and Complex Carbs (brown rice or whole grain bread, maybe potato, but not too much)
Meal seven - (an hour before bed) BIG Post Workout Muscle Building Protein Shake –60-80 gm Protein, (if not watching carbs then including favorite fruit, plain yogurt, milk and honey) (If still hungry after this then maybe eat half-pound of lean turkey breast), Another Daily MV, and fish oil could be taken as pills directly before sleeping
Romo-less Cowboys Lose To Rams

Well another week another loss for the Cowboys. They lost to a Rams team who before the win over the Cowboys had only one win. Tony Romo broke his pinky finger last week on his throwing hand and wasn't able to play. The 40 year old Brad Johnson came in and threw 3 interceptions. The Boys seem to be riddled with injuries on both sides of the ball. You have 2 corners gone. One is hurt and the other was just suspended for an unknown amount of time. A punter is out with a broken foot. Felix Jones is out with a torn hamstring. These injuries are killing them. They are just not the team they need to be. They are in need of serious help. Hopefully Romo starts next week if he can tolerate the pain, and get a big win over Tampa Bay. He honestly cant do any worse than Brad Johnson did. Only time will tell so until next week. Cowboys are now (4-3).

Blocked Punt Gives Arizona 30-24 Overtime Victory

What can honestly be said? The game started off with a 94 kick off return by Arizona. Nick Folk then misses a field goal. There was turn over on both sides of the ball over and over. Lets fast forward to the 4th quarter 4 seconds left in the game and the score is 21-24 Arizona with the cowboys attempting a 52 yard field goal. Folk makes the field goal and the game goes into overtime with the Boys getting the ball first. The Cardinals stops them in 3 and out and leaves Dallas to punt the ball. McBriar gets the snap and an unblocked Cardinal comes through and blocks the punt and runs it in for a touchdown game over. It was the first time in NFL history that a blocked punt for a touchdown ended a game in overtime. There isn't much to say other than special teams won that game with a lot of luck for Arizona. Cowboys are now (4-2) going into next weeks game against the Rams (1-5). If they cant win that game in a convincing fashion I don't know what to say anymore.

Dana White UFC President on EliteXC
If you keep up with mixed martial arts you know what has been going on lately with the Kimbo and EliteXC. His opponent was paid to stand up because they thought Kimbo would knock him out. They didn't want Seth to go to the ground because they know Kimbo would lose there. Kimbo got beat by a guy who couldn't cut it in the UFC. Fucking jack asses. It is illegal I hope they get fried and that poor excuse of a company trying to compete with UFC goes under.

Cowboys nearly blow big lead, but hold off Bengals

After letting a 17-point lead shrivel to one, then breaking up a 2-point conversion that could’ve tied it, the Cowboys had plenty of reasons to be giddy about their lucky break in the final minutes that sealed a 31-22 victory over the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday. Tony Romo threw for a season low 176 yards but for 3 touchdowns and 1 interception. Marion Barber turned 23 carries into 84 yards and rookie Felix Jones gained 96 yards on just nine carries. Jones went 33 yards for a touchdown on a fourth-and-1 during Dallas’ early game burst. Terrel Owens caught 2 passes for 67 yards and a Touchdown, and 8 yards on a rush attempt. The Cowboys will play in Arizona against the (3-2) Cardinals next Sunday.

Petruzelli Shocks Slice
14655
Kimbo Slice was supposed to fight UFC Hall of Famer Ken Shamrock tonight on CBS, but Shamrock was medically suspended after suffering a cut that required 6-7 stitches in warm ups earlier. So Light heavy Weight Seth Petruzelli who was fighting on the under card of the event stepped up to fight Heavy Weight Kimbo Slice. No one expected the fight to last 14 seconds, especially with Kimbo on the losing end. Kimbo rushed in and was caught with a front push kick, and a right hand to the chin which sent Slice to the mat. Petruzelli followed up with punches in which Slice could not recover from and the ref was forced to step in. This is a big blow to Elite XC's promotion in my opinion and has been stated in many articles and mma sites online. Kimbo is there cash cow, and a loss like this hurts Elite XC who wants to compete with the UFC. They needed a win from him tonight and didn't get it. Fighters like Slice and Corano are there big time stars and ratings draws. They placed him to fight Shamrock to get a recognizable credible fighter that they thought Slice could beat. All that was turned upside down tonight. Kimbo is brand new to MMA. His rise to fame is because of his internet youtube video backyard fights. Those are what got him there to the spot light and nothing else. To a casual fan of the sport they may think Slice is the best thing MMA has ever seen which would make any hardcore fan laugh for hours and make them sick. You want to watch great fighters of the past and present who trained for years and have skills? Rent some old PRIDE or UFC dvds. His skills in MMA are amateur by far. There are 100 other experienced fighters out there who are better skill wise but a company needs a big recognizable name to get things going and Slice was it. Some of you might say it was BS and it was a lucky punch etc. You are obviously uneducated about the sport of Mixed Martial Arts. You cant watch the occasional MMA event and be knowledgeable about it and understand all aspects of it. You have go to do your homework. The commentators try and explain alot of whats going on so the casual fan understands. They are using 4-6oz Mixed Martial Arts gloves that are there basically to protect the knuckles but to still allow grabbing for the ground aspect of fighting. Lucky? Be my guest to get hit with those on. Anything can happen in MMA. Sometimes you must train to see that. If you make one mistake may it be on the feet or on the ground and its game over. Anything can happened and anyone can lose in this sport, and honestly if you are man enough to step in the cage there is really no shame in losing. It takes balls and all these guys deserve respect. Nothing is lucky in MMA. Overall a great night of fights.
